Electrical performance testing
Dielectric strength
Dielectric strength refers to a measure of the electrical strength of a material as an insulator. It is defined as the maximum voltage per unit thickness that a sample can withstand when it is broken down, expressed in volts per unit thickness. The higher the dielectric strength of a material, the better its quality as an insulator.
CTI relative leakage tracking index
Compared to the leakage tracking index (CTI), it refers to the highest voltage value of a solid insulation material surface that can withstand 50 drops of electrolyte without forming leakage traces under the combined action of an electric field and electrolyte, expressed in V.
